Duty 2 Detect is a non-profit organisation striving to help in the fight against breast cancer and highlighting the need for all women to do a monthly self examination and go for the required mammogram(s) and/or scan(s). Along with o5 Webdesign and RG Technologies, we created this website, free of charge for Duty 2 Detect.
To create a clean, simple, easy to navigate site that was upbeat and feminine. They wanted to stick with a very pink layout and use there existing logo.
Simplicity was the main objective of this site as Duty 2 Detect didn’t want to detract from their message. I therefore created a very clean, uncluttered double column template with a top banner and navigation bar. To give this template some life I used the pink background and heading buttons and I finished it off by using some positive uplifting images of women. I’m proud to say that the client absolutely loved it. To learn more about Duty 2 Detect you can go to www.duty2detect.com.
The core function of the Freedom Park is the creation of a memorial that will narrate the story of South Africa's pre-colonial, colonial, apartheid, and post-apartheid history and heritage, spanning a period of 3.6 billion years of humanity, to acknowledge those that contributed to the freedom of the country and managing the Freedom Park as a cultural institution.
To create a folder containing 5 inserts, each describing a main area in the park.
The folder gives general info about The Freedom Park, while each of the inserts focus specifically on one of the main areas. Circles feature prominently in the architecture of the Freedom Park, symbolizing life and unity. Circles are therefore the basis of the design so as to form a connection between the printed material and the surroundings of the park. The earthy, but vibrant colours of Africa are used to represent the unique and exuberant cultures that The Freedom Park represents. The sky that is seen in the curve of each of the inserts gives a feeling of where The Freedom Park is situated, on a hill under the ever changing African sky.
